What is PICA?                              If your child or someone whom you know are eating some non-food objects like mud, clay or chalk piece, or something else which is not related to food… Then beware, because it is a medical condition called PICA. "It is disorder of persistent craving and compulsive eating of non food substances" It is seen peculiarly in children, however it is also seen in adults, in all age groups and both genders. Some of the most commonly described types of pica are eating like earth, soil or clay called as geophagia eating ice is pagophagia, starch called as amylophagia.
